Every year, USPS offers promotions to incentivize marketers to send more direct mail. The 2024 USPS Promotions are in full swing now and USPS has already announced their promotions for 2025.

For nonprofits, the potential savings USPS’s Promotions offer are significant, not to mention the increased opportunities to connect with donors. By understanding what promotions are being offered, and being aware of when the promotions will take place, nonprofit organizations can align their marketing strategies to maximize savings.

2024 is Still On

Throughout 2024, USPS offered six promotions that focus on mobile integration, modernizing mail, and customer engagement. Three promotion opportunities remain for 2024: Emerging Technology; Reply Mail IMbA; Informed Delivery; and Retargeting.

Quick Review of USPS’s 2024 Promotions

There’s still time to incorporate the following 2024 USPS Promotions into your marketing strategy!

*Registration is open now for these promos.

Reply Mail IMbA – 3% or 6% discount – ends August 31, 2024

The Reply Mail IMbA Promotion encourages mailers to use the Intelligent Mail Barcode Accounting system to automate invoicing and use the QBRM product.

Informed Delivery – 4% discount – August 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

The Informed Delivery promotion integrates digital previews of incoming physical mail to elevate customer experience.

During this promotion, businesses connect their physical mail to digital experiences. This provides recipients with interactive content before their mail arrives. This combination of digital and physical touchpoints captures the audience’s attention and increases the likelihood of engagement.

Retargeting –  September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

The Retargeting Mail Promotion encourages businesses to send personalized postcards to potential customers who visit their website (or mobile app) but don’t purchase.

The goal is to connect online behavior with direct mail, creating multiple touchpoints. This strategy helps businesses build on customers’ online interest to drive sales, improve brand awareness, and refine offers.

eDoc submitters will still get an extra 0.5% off.

Another “add-on” promotion is Sustainability, which offers a 1% discount for mail that uses recycled paper stock with the FSC mark.

All add-on promotions can be added on to any primary promotion.
